Congratulations to the Hempfield Symphonic Band on a fantastic performance at the 2013 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Conference! In July, the group was selected in from a pool of over 100 applications and recordings to represent musical excellence in the state of Pennsylvania at the 2013 All-State Conference. Being selected to perform at the Conference is akin to winning a State Championship in athletics, and the group spent the entire year preparing for the performance in order to represent themselves and the Hempfield community at the highest possible level.

The Symphonic Band's performance on April 18th at Erie's Bayfront Convention Center did not disappoint. Performing in front of a capacity crowd of esteemed music educators from every corner of Pennsylvania, the Symphonic Band performed an inspired concert that moved a most discriminating audience to multiple standing ovations. The All-State performance cemented the group's place among the elite concert ensembles in the state of Pennsylvania and once again proved to each member that GREAT things happen when you work hard and strive for excellence!

Personally, I'd like to thank everyone that has made this journey possible. These life-changing experiences do not happen without the unyielding support of a special school community! There were many folks at the conference who made comments about recommending our group to perform at a National Honor Band Festival - with continued support, the sky is the limit for our students!
